What we collect when you book, why we hold it, how long we keep it and what you can make us do about it.
Build note: boilerplate shaped to this business and grounded in UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018 and ICO guidance. It is not legal advice — have it checked before publication.

| Invoices, VAT and accounts | Compliance with a legal obligation |
| MOT reminders and marketing messages | Your consent, withdrawable at any time |
| Record | Kept for | Why |
|---|---|---|

| Job records and photographs | 6 years | The limitation period for contract claims under the Limitation Act 1980 |
| Invoices and accounting records | 6 years | HMRC requires tax and VAT records for six years |
| MOT test records | As DVSA requires | Held on the national record, not by us alone |

Under UK GDPR you can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it where we have no legal reason to keep it, restrict what we do with it, send it to another provider, or stop marketing at any time. Email us and we will respond within one month at no charge.
One honest limit: where a record is kept because HMRC, the Limitation Act or DVSA requires it, we cannot delete it early even if you ask.
Tell us first — it is usually something we can fix the same day. If you are not satisfied you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
